Fleetwood Mac - Seven Wonders Lyrics Meaning

Jan 12th 2021!⃝I connected pretty deeply with this song during the end of a relationship. It was a great relationship and it ended over a drawn out period where neither one of us could be brave to admit what it was we really needed, our of fear of hurting each other.
In the track, the lyrics make it apparent that while both parties still feel very deeply connected/care for one another, there’s a resignation that they both need to take separate paths on their journey forward. They won’t be together again, and things may not be the same when they see each other down the road, but there’s a hope (maybe a faith) that they will be connected again at another time - in whatever way that may be. Is it a friendship? A twin flame? Who can know. Only time. The lyrics speak to a deep respect for the history of what the couple have been through, and how they felt at the start - maybe things changed in what they needed next, but the depth of what they feel hasn’t really greyed out,
I find the lyrics a bit haunting when you consider the storyline of the song. For example, the bittersweet feelings in a situation, where you may want the very best for the other (as well as yourself), but to give/get that, both parties need to let go and accept that some degree of grief for the things you’ll never have again, like togetherness, but the sweet in the bittersweet is also wonder for the change ahead.
This isn’t a break up that’s bad - it’s almost the ideal breakup - but somehow that makes it all the more uncertain that this is the right thing. Will they need and relate to each other in the same way again?
In this way, I interpret “seven wonders” to be a metaphor, it may not have so much to do with travel or someone wanting to see the world, but someone embarking on something new - maybe something completely foreign to the familiarity the couples enjoyed before.
